Thanks to CNA and PPIB Insurance for giving to BHGH-SF during this year’s #IICFWeekofGiving!

The Week of Giving is an eight-day international and industry-wide volunteer initiative during which the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation brings together insurance industry professionals to complete volunteer projects and service that benefit community nonprofits throughout the United States and United Kingdom. This year we had the pleasure of working together with CNA Insurance, and the Professional Program Insurance Brokerage to organize supply and care package drives to support our students and their families! Here’s what Cindy, CNA Insurance’s organizer, had to say about her experience!

“In my extensive search to find the right fit for CNA to donate to and volunteer for, I was lucky to find Boys Hope Girls Hope. I quickly became enthralled with their efforts to help students reach their full potential by forming after-school academic support. After having Kevin Ugalde, BHGH Scholar Success Manager, come into our office to speak about BHGH, CNA SF knew we could really make an impact for these students. To do so, I organized a school supply and toiletry drive and asked for donations to go towards even more supplies for BHGH. We were very successful in our endeavors and were able to raise over $2,000. When we presented the donations to the students, I was overcome with delight as they were obviously blown away with our efforts. It was a joy taking a tour of the classroom, speaking with the students and getting to know the staff. It was apparent that everyone involved was dedicated, hardworking, excited about learning and teaching, and grateful to have this opportunity. We were also impressed with Perry Im, BHGH Director of Programs, and how he conducted himself and captivated the student’s attention. We look forward to being more involved in the classroom in the future and to continue with this partnership.”

Thank you to Cindy and her team, and our friends at PPIB Insurance for all their support during the holidays!
