Anjana Utarid began her career in private schools as a second-grade teacher before moving into nonprofit work serving various needs of children. She previously led two nonprofits in Sonoma County as executive director—Sonoma County Children’s Village and Sebastopol Center for the Arts. Born in India, Anjana’s family relocated to Sebastopol, California when she was eight years old. Traveling to many countries, experiencing beautiful cultures and holding insightful conversations has been an integral part of her personal, educational, and professional experience. Anjana earned a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology from Sonoma State University, and subsequently went on to achieve a Master’s Degree in educational counseling from the University of San Francisco. She led the accreditation process for two foster care agencies in California, was a peer reviewer with the Council on Accreditation for the state of Washington, and served on two school boards. Anjana managed her own catering company for a short time, and has authored two children’s books. She is proud to be the recipient of a North Bay Nonprofit Leadership Award in 2014. Outside of work, Anjana enjoys running, hiking, yoga and cooking meals for family and friends, and spending time with her daughter.

Perry is an alum of the Boys Hope Girls Hope San Francisco affiliate, where he started as a student at age 12. BHGH SF went on to help Perry attend California State University, East Bay where he obtained a degree in Sociology. While there he volunteered as a tutor and mentor to the boys in the residential program and eventually went through the AmeriCorps Program in 2013. Upon graduation from CSU, Perry joined BHGH SF as our first middle school coordinator. He subsequently built vital partnerships with local schools and communities for our incoming high school scholars. Now Perry oversees both of our two Boys Hope Girls Hope locations. As the Director of Programs, Perry strives to build relationships with high school admissions, families, and the community. He also serves our network headquarters’ team as the Alumni Engagement Specialist, assisting BHGH alumni throughout the nation with career development, and ensuring success as they transition into young professionals.
Scholar Success Manager
After graduating from San Francisco State University with a degree in Health Science, Kevin started his journey with Boys Hope Girls Hope of San Francisco in 2015 as an AmeriCorps volunteer. At that time he supported Hope Academy as our Community Resource Coordinator. Currently, Kevin serves our scholars as the Scholar Success Manager. He oversees and supports scholars from 7th grade through senior in high school at Hope Academy. In addition, he takes on the leadership role in planning and organizing our corporate visit tours and our community service events twice a month. Scholar Support Specialist
Rayburn graduated from our Boys Hope Girls Hope in 2018. He is currently attending the University of San Francisco and working towards his Psychology degree. In the near future, he hopes to become a clinical psychologist. Currently, Rayburn interns at Hope Academy as our Scholar Support Specialist, supporting and guiding our scholars. He provides tutoring, SAT/ACT Exam preparation, and high school application/college applications assistance, to name just a few of the ways he helps students. Rayburn is also a Steward Scholar. As a Steward Scholar, he has the privilege to attend all-expense-paid professional networking events throughout the nation. This provides him the opportunity to potentially earn paid internships and aid throughout his college career.
